Welcome to Les Taupins...
Les Taupins was built around 1820 by a family of farmers.
The farm house is built from the local chalky stone, quarried from the site itself, in the traditional way with beaten earth as mortar. The owners are lovingly restoring it to its former beauty.
The surrounding area is steeped in history, from the 11th century fortified village of Lieze to architectural wonders of the Renaissance like Chenonceau and the town of Richelieu.
Chinon saw both Richard the Lionheart and Joan of Arc, whilst writers and philosophers like Balzac, Sarthe and Rabelais lived in and were inspired by the area.
